Well, 2008 is nearly up, so it’s about time for a summary for the year. Despite my setbacks with RSI, I’ve achieved a lot this year. I had some very soft targets for this year, and I met all of them. However, my goals for 2009 will be more difficult to achieve. So here we go…

So here I am again with one of my frustrations in the webmaster world - link exchangers.
Link exchanging, if done correctly, is a perfectly valid method of building backlinks. However, I receive a few link exchange requests per week, and they are worded so badly. So this article is about the don’ts of link exchanges from my own perspective, drizzled in dry wit and sarcasm.

Today’s article is a short update regarding changes in my portfolio. I have sold off my BuxTo Payments site, as that wasn’t making me any more money. It was in profit, and made me about £40 in the end. I’ve also created 2 new sites, one that allows you to generate a gift certificate offering your time, and another that provides the latest news and information about indoor fireworks.

This article highlights 3 sadly common mistakes made by 3 businesses I’ve had dealings with in the last couple of weeks. Last week, MFI, essentially a bathroom and kitchen retailer, and Woolworths, a music/video/confectionery/clothes/toys/homeware/gardening/etc shop, have both gone into administration. I’ll share my perspectives on why I think they failed.
Additionally, I’ll share thoughts based on my dealings with a UK fudge company that was evasive about sending me their wholesale fudge price list.
