About

About me…

Daniel Harrison, Writer and Editor: I was born in England, United Kingdom in the leafy county of Surrey (until the property developers moved in and built houses on all the parks). I have a masters degree in Computer Science. I now live in Hampshire working as a software engineer, running websites in my ever-decreasing free time.

I started Spy Review in April 2006, which was the catalyst for a lot of learning about running websites and making money from them. In addition to running Little Earner (the precursor to PowerDosh), the intention was to earn some extra cash so I could do a bit of traveling. Over about 2 years, my pre-tax profits were in the high £x,xxx mostly from running Spy Review and doing paid blog posting.

However, I found that Spy Review was too time consuming and doing paid blog posts was a poor return on my time. In December 2007 I stopped doing paid blog posts and I sold Spy Review in January 2008. I now have much more time, and a tiny portfolio that only generates £xx per month.

The intention is to use this additional time and extensive experience to create websites that generate income without needing any or much maintenance. My target is to earn a pre-tax income of around £2000 per month, and I hope to achieve this within 2 years. There’s no such thing as a quick buck!

About the site…

PowerDosh.com features my ideas, mistakes and lessons learnt (and going to learn) on this journey. These tips will be funny, odd, sad, and most importantly, useful to you!

Life is about having a life, so my emphasis is being efficient at making money to make the best of life. I have dreams and aspirations, but I need money to get there. Don’t earn money for the sake of it, make money to help you achieve your dreams!
